Before Anything Else
Before Anything Else
Within that which we desire
there is something more
we do not know
Even when it occupies the small space between
my restless hands
and the trembling newness
of your skin
Within those small spaces
when it is only your
soft breath
I feel against
my parted lips
There—
That thing I do not know
becomes everything.
Because in that space
all things are possible
